Off to the MTC
Kaitlin left for the MTC today. After having to talk/sing at multiple farewells, say goodbye to 5 brothers and 1 sister at the MTC, none of us participated in sacrament meeting with her and none of us were at the MTC to see her off. Times have changed and I guess that just proves that I am old. This morning I did have breakfast with Kaitlin, we met at Cracker Barrel and ate, played the peg game, and bought exotic candy, except Tyler, he got a whoopie cushion.
At the end of breakfast Kaitlin slipped me a little piece of paper with the info to break into her blog! :) So for the next 18 months, I will try to update this thing once a week with my own words. Beware!
Anyway, so after Tyler showed us multiple tricks with his whoopie cushion, we hugged and said goodbye. She is gone and really I am so happy for her! The MTC is the best and I know she will love it and learn and grow a lot while she is there.
As I drove back home, to-do lists were being formed in my head. I put the kids back in school, against their will and took off to do a few things. We went to Kohl's and then to Costco. Tyler sat on a bucket of wheat and made farting noises with his whoopie cushion the whole time. It was kind of embarassing.
I kept thinking about Kaitlin and what she might be doing. Especially when my stomach started rolling while I was shopping and I had to run to the bathroom! I wondered if Kaitlin's breakfast didn't sit well with her and if she was in the bathroom too. I was wishing she could be with us tonight. Then when I was making dinner, salmon, I realized she is probably really glad she is in the MTC tonight because she does not like fish!
Anyways, Kaitlin will be a great missionary! She is prepared and ready. And my mom told her if she baptizes 12 people she will take her to Hawaii when she gets home! Just kidding! It's probably a good thing Kaitlin can't read blogs on her mission. I bet she changes her password when she gets home! Until next week! Hopefully we will have a real letter and I can use some of her own words:)
Good Luck Kaitlin!
